Taken from EJECT: Archives + Demos 2004-2014 album.
Recording in 2007. I wrote and recorded this one at the same time. Recorded on Garageband, it captures the abstract nature of the song.
Can't give too much away about the lyrics, but let's just say that the Cow was real. The interlude was actually an interlude called 'Still Skimming Stones' and was originally on the end of another song called 'Your Love", The recording of 'Your Love" wasn't ever finished, but this survived and I had to include it.

LYRICS /
I sit and I wait...
But it's a long old motion now
And I count delay, but I'll get even and lost in the crowd
What happened to you made it easy to lose
So make me unstuck and paint me a cow
They call this bad luck when I'm upside down
If we're not in love, she'll just put me down, down
Could somebody paint me a cow
I had something to say but got every word back to front
And now my old friends are dead, they dug a hole for me but I climbed back out
What happened to them made it hard to pretend
So make me unstuck and paint me a cow
And don't wish me luck when I'm upside down
If we're not in love, she'll just put me down, down, down, down
So won't you console me
Draw me a map, I'm unsteady
Markdown an X where you saw me last
So I can find myself, I can find myself again
So I sat and stared, but the cow kept laughing
I guess I'm just unprepared
Guess after all I'm still stuck on us
INTERLUDE /
I must admit that I was broken from the outset
Still skimming stones, while you were draining out the lakes
I must admit that I was broken from the outset
Still skimming stones, while you were draining out the lakes
