Taken from EJECT: Archives + Demos 2004-2014 album.
Recorded in 2009. After a pretty frustrating time, a session was set-up to record some new material. The producer, Mike Crossey found me a wonderful pick-me-up band made up of guys from The Stands, The Zutons, and Echo & The Bunnymen's live band. I rearranged the rhythm and production approach at the last minute, and we got this down within a few hours.

LYRICS /
Late last night I saw a silent waterfall
It held me as a fell into the cold
I should have let it go, I should have kept on running
But I lit lonely fires on my own
If you want to run
Then I give up
I'm not about to chase someone I love
Stars could fall but still, I'd look up for you
Every door I open locks shut before I can walk through
And if I give up, would you forget about the view
So we sink apart, and under we'll be soon
I saw them, man I stalled
Electric animals. I fired all of my arrows as they fell
But then I gave up like you knew I would
Like you knew I should have left well alone
Stars could fall but still, I'd look up for you
Every door I open locks shut before I can walk through
And if I give up, would you forget about the view
So we sink apart, and under we'll be soon
If fire alone could bury this cold, would you make it easy on yourself
With science and fear, we both disappear, and I won't love anybody else
I've shot arrows at stars, collided like cars, now I'm forever in your debt
I'm forever in your debt
Still, I'd look up for you
Stars could fall but still, I'd look up for you
Every door I open locks shut before I can walk through
And if I give up, would you forget about the view
So we sink apart, and under we'll be soon
